Antioxidants
Antioxidants for Health
An antioxidant is a molecule capable of protecting against the damaging effects of free radical compounds. Once a free radical oxidizes a molecule, it can start a chain reaction of oxidation that won’t stop until it meets an antioxidant. Antioxidants occur naturally in fresh fruit, vegetables, spices, herbs, nuts and seeds. A number of studies have suggested that antioxidants can be very beneficial and protect against excessive levels of free radicals.
